چکیده

Conventional intracellular recordings from the bundle of His and right bundle branch of the canine heart demonstrated that the slope of diastolic depolarization is markedly depressed by superfusion with relatively small concentrations (4—8 jug/ml) of acetylcholine. As the cells become less automatic, take-off potential increases, rise time of phase 0 is reduced, action potential amplitude increases, and conduction proceeds more rapidly.

Age-Dependent Regeneration by Using Electromyographical Study Foliowing Sciatic Nerve Injury in Rat

Purpose: There are extensive evidences that show axonal processes of the nervous system (peripheral and/or central) may be degenerated after nerve injuries. Axonal regeneration is relation to various factors. In this investigation we decided to evaluate the effects of nerve regeneration age-dependent on injured rat sciatic nerv. Materials and Methods: For this study, the right sciatic nerve of...

Catheter Ablation of Ventricular Arrhythmias: Clinical Vignettes

Ventricular arrhythmias (VA) can develop in patients with structural heart disease (SHD) including prior myocardial infarction and nonischemic cardiomyopathy. When VAs manifest in structurally normal hearts, they are usually a result of intra-cellular calcium overload (triggered activity) or an abnormal response to adrenergic stimulation (automaticity).1 Reentry within the Purkinje fibers and s...

Evaluation of date extract on nerve conduction velocity in male rat

Abstract Introduction: neuropathy is a condition in which the peripheral nervous system is disrupted. The study of the effects of antioxidants on the performance improvement of this system is vital. This study was aimed at the investigation of the effects of date extract on nerve conduction velocity, distal latency, and wave height of the sciatic nerve in male rats. Materials and Methods: thi...

His Bundle Activates Faster than Ventricular Myocardium during Prolonged Ventricular Fibrillation

BACKGROUND The Purkinje fiber system has recently been implicated as an important driver of the rapid activation rate during long duration ventricular fibrillation (VF>2 minutes). The goal of this study is to determine whether this activity propagates to or occurs in the proximal specialized conduction system during VF as well. METHODS AND RESULTS An 8×8 array with 300 µm spaced electrodes wa...
